Do I have any kind of a case here?

I am inquiring about a civil suit against my Ex-Husband.  During our separation I was diagnosed and battled Kidney Cancer, subsequently, because of the traumatic state of a life threating illness, and being abandoned by my husband, I suffer from PTSD.  During my recovery he told our kids, his family and our friends that I never really had cancer, it was only a ploy for sympathy.  He continually incites my condition, and causes me pain and suffering. He recently approached my friends at a local restaurant bar and again told them that I am crazy and I didn't have cancer I'm just saying that I did to gain friendships and sympathy. Is there any precedence of a case like this? Thank you
