Can my boss discuss my employment status in front of the "public"?

Business 4 views 1 answers
My board recently decided to have a planning meeting in which I was told I could not attend. At this point one of the board members invited a non-board member to the meeting (the only non-board member in attendance). Since then that individual has written me a letter explaining that I am "skating on thin ice", has shown up at my home, without invite, to discuss business, and the board refuses to release the minutes of that meeting to me. Do I have a case for anything?

Your question is in "residential real estate" but you state that you are part of a "board," your "boss" is threatening to speak publicly and another "non-board member" is coming to your house. It is impossible for anyone to answer your question. An attorney will need to know what kind of board this is, and whether you are an officer, an employee or something else. An attorney will need to look at the by-laws of the "board" to see what is and what is not permitted. And if you have your own agreement with this company or entity, you'll need to have someone look at that too.
