What is time limit (statue limitation) to file legal malpractice lawsuit against attorney in Ohio? Is it one year from the end of (civil case) trial or one year from the appeal(motion for reconsideration to Ohio Supreme Court)?Thank you. Bob

It is my understanding that the statute of limitations for legal malpractice claims in Ohio is one year, but that the discovery rule may apply, depending on the circumstances, to delay commencement of the limitations period. In at least some states, the statute of limitations does not begin to run until the termination of the legal relationship, but I do not know if that is true in Ohio. You really should contact your local county or state bar association for a referral to an attorney who may be able to assist you.
