He fired me the end of the day the end of the month, 10 days before my long scheduled vacation. He boasted that he'd like to get rid of old people so I van younger new blood in. I have been here 17 hrs if
Other female workers join in to complain, how we go about? I feel very betrayed by management team.please help.
All staff are very scare to talk to HR, because HR is wrong for them. Staff are afraid of retaliation. Can I report to the state of their misconducts? We had 2 meetings w the higher level of HR, they found managers had nothing wrong. The encourage lower levels staff complain the higher one,so they can hire cheaper labor.
In California, the employment relationship is presumed to be at-will which means that you or your employer may terminate the relationship at any time, with or without cause. Nevertheless, employers may not discriminate or harass based on a "protected class" (i.e. race, national origin, age over 40, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion). Employers also may not terminate an employee if it violates public policy (i.e. terminating an employee who complained about paychecks being late).
You may have a claim based on gender discrimination but will need to file a charge with either the Department of Fair Employment and Housing or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In addition, it is also not clear whether you are a member of a union, if so, then you may want to file a grievance through your union.
As an at-will employee, you can quit at any time for any reason, you can be fired for any reason, a rotten reason, or no reason, except unlawful discrimination. If you do not have an employment contract or union to represent you, your recourse is limited. Discrimination based on age, gender, race, religious beliefs etc.... may give rise to a different answer.

No one can know what the record is in the case because online we cannot find out any details. Check with a lawyer in your locale to discuss more of the details.
If you have a discrimination theory about retaliatory discharge or hostile workplace conditions you'll need a lawyer. Religious belief, age, gender, race etc. all are discriminatory reasons for which you cannot be legally fired and upon which you might base a wrongful termination suit.
Good luck to you.
God bless.
