I am a marijuana caregiver for my mom. My mom left a joint in my car and I seen it when I got home. She seen some gloves in my car that she wanted for the garden. Long story short I put the joint in the gloves so when I went to her house next time I could just give her the gloves and joint together. I ended up not going over there for a week and needed some gloves for work. Didn't think about the joint and threw the gloves in my back pack. Joint still in the gloves. Got to work and went thru security and got caught with it.

You should consult counsel to discuss the matter. You are entitled to a trial by the court o r a jury. An attorney will want to review the police report and discuss the case with the local prosecutor to determine if the prosecutor will offer first offender treatment. You should have the attorney advise you as to the ramifications of any plea offer. This may still disqualify you from government and other positions in the future. You may want to proceed to trial to preserve your employment opportunities in the future. Robert D. Mouradian
