My ex wife chose to stay in the rental when we separated. I paid the rent up to the end of the month I vacated the property. In the judgement of divorce it states we are liable for all debts and payments related to property we hold. A year and a half later she gets evicted. I was never served, but looked up court records when I learned she was evicted. I was listed as a defendant in the eviction. There is a default judgement against us. I'm in Iowa, she is in Michigan.

What outcome do you want? You can file a motion to set aside the default within 60 days of entry of the judgment. Or if you were not served you may be able to attack the judgment another way. But really, it all depends on your goal.
