i have been seeing my boyfriend for over a year my son and i have been staying with him at his house more and more often until we were there all week every week. he has asked me if i want to move in with him at his house, i have joint custody of my child shared 50/50 week on week off. the distance has not and will not affect my childs time with his father. are there and rules to follow such as an advanced notice of moving. and by law do i have to give the father the new address

There are no guarantees in life. You were correct to review the court’s order and the agreement with the father regarding parenting time. One problem could relate to the children’s attendance at school and day care. A change in school districts and day care may create a legitimate complaint by the father. You should consider thinking about how this may create an objection by the father. Co-parenting is very difficult and a change of even 15 miles could create additional co-parenting problems. After you have thought about the issues from the father’s point of view, I would discuss this potential move with the father before making the move. Hopefully you can get an agreement. But, if not, you may end up back in court.
