If a felony driving on a suspended license case is dimissed, do I still have to pay a fine? Is there a statue of limitation? The case was dismissed in 2001.

You do not have to pay any fines or court costs for a charge that has been dismissed. One way to make sure that you don't owe any money is to call the clerk's office in the county where you were charged and have them confirm that your case is closed. You can give them your case number if you know it, otherwise than can look up your case by your name.

If the case was dismissed, you shouldn't have to pay a fine on it. However, sometimes with a DWLSR there is a companion infraction (i.e., speeding, running a stop sign, etc.). You should check to see if there were any other tickets given and if they were dismissed as well. My office is here in Clearwater. If you have any specific questions, I can look it up on the computer for you. Aaron J. Slavin, Esq.
