Will my granddaughter be eligible as an "immidiate relative ?

I petitioned for an immigration visa for my daughter back in 2015. She's currently waiting for her visa to process because she's over 21. And she doesn't qualify as a immediate relative" . Furthermore, she just gave birth to a child, and I was wondering if I add my granddaughter on the case as an "derivative" will she qualify as a immediate relative .

There is no derivative status for family based immigration. When our daughter is nearing her priority date I suggest you consult with an experienced immigration attorney. This sight is not designed to provide you with the details for the procedure.

Immediate relative only applies to spouse parent or child of a US citizen. Your granddaughter will be eligible as a derivative of your daughter.

No, a grandchild can not be an immediate relative. But, your daughter can add her child to her application, once it gets to the NVC.
