Do I need to notify the atty?

I do not want to continue helping husband obtain his resident card, as he will be moving out of my home soon. He's waiting for a letter from INS to get his appointment date to travel to his country for his physical & to go to the embassy. Do I need to notify his atty in writing that I will not go to the immigration interview with him and that he's not to continue moving fwd with his case?

I recommend that you contact the attorney that is representing you and advise that you no longer wish to proceed with the case. The attorney can then notify USCIS, NVC, and the U.S. consulate.

You should notify both the attorney and USCIS and withdraw your petition.
