how do i get my ex husband's attorney to speak to me? i'm in debt and had to fire my lawyer. i can't afford to continue. i have no room left on credit cards to pay for services that i back owe. and how that i am prose, she refusing contact via email or telephone. as before this is the primary way she communicated with my lawyer. her client is in contempt of court on 2 current charges that she says he is not. i'm in the process of filing an OTSC against him for refusal to fulfill alimony obligations. HOW DO I ask the courts to force her to speak with me?! they courts are seeking resolution. i'm being punished by her outright bigotry. it's an abuse of power as she represents her client (who was documented physically abusive to me). this is a nightmare. i need to ask the courts to help me!!! :( please!

Assuming that you have sent the lawyer a consent to change attorney or the Judge has relieved your lawyer, you cannot force the lawyer to speak with you. You should raise this issue in a conference with the court.

if a proper substitution of attorney has been filed so that you are "officially" representing yourself, under the ethics rules, the opposing attorney has an obligation to communicate with you- if not be telephone, certainly in response to written communications. if that doesn't work, sanctions are possible and the appropriate motion can be filed with the court.

She probably isn't speaking to you because she is taking advantage of the fact that you are not represented to get more for her client. Request a conference with the Judge. Also see if you can find an attorney that will agree to work on your case and collect money from your husband later. Sometimes attorneys will do this if he has significant assets.
