My ex husband has legal custody of my 17 year old son. He is currently in a juvenile detention facility in arkansas. After keeping him away from me for months, he dropped him off at my house with a ged book to study because he had taken him out if high school. He left him for 3 months and I put him back in school. He was on juvenile probation. My ex called one night mad at my son for not calling him and told him he wouldn't let him see me again. (The judge granted him to use his discretion for visitation with me in the custody order.) My son ran away from my house because he did not want to go to his dads. He put him on the news as a runaway and he came to me asking for me to turn him in. They violated his probation and placed him juvenile detention. My ex told them not to let me visit with him. He has been there almost 9 months because he refuses to go to his dads still. What can I do to get him released to me? My ex hasn't been to see him since he has been there and has kept me from visiting. No one else is permitted to see him either. I am desperate for some advice to help my son. What can I do to demand visitation and to be released to me? There is no other order.

Your question has been here for five days now which means after seven, attorneys won't be able to respond. has a system in place to message attorneys directly. Use the find a lawyer and you can try that. Or, use it and see about setting up an appointment with a local attorney. There are attorney that charge a low amount or nothing for an initial consultation. Why I can give you advice since I'm not in your state, I've found by doing this it sometimes prompts an attorney from your state to respond. Otherwise, you'll have to repost your question and hope you get a response. Best to you, Lee
