Understanding how to interpret something in the divorce judgment?

Can you advise on what this means in the official judgment? Can you put it into laments terms? "Although providing the minor child with a safe and healthy environment shall be their first priority, the parties shall use their best efforts to preserve each other's feelings and dignity and each shall use reasonable objectivity wherever possible" I am trying to understand what it means by "preserve each other's feelings and dignity and each shall use reasonable objectivity wherever possible"

Before I finished reading the entire question, I was already thinking I should move this question over to the divorce section. But, there's no need for that. Here's what it means, "Do unto your Ex as you would have your Ex do unto you."

In Lousiana the judgments usually have language that say that the other parent will not be disparaged or spoken of badly in front of the child.

It means be nice and civil to each other and try not to let emotions cloud your judgment when it comes to making decisions about your child. The court wants you guys to act like decent human beings to each other and not get wrapped up in your issues with each other because it will have an adverse impact on the child.

You will only see this language in Family Law judgments. Simply put act civil to one another, as another contributors said, do not disparage the other parent in front of the child/children.
