Can someone make a police statement when I only contacted a person once?

I'm currently pregnant and on Facebook a girl was recommended as a friend. I looked at her picture and realized that guy she was with is the father of my baby. I contacted her and asked her if she knew about his past and she responded no. I spoke with her about him and just warned her to be careful because she has a son. She thanked me and then stated that she was going to kick him out of her house. I left her alone after that but the next night she emailed me saying that she knew who I was and has been with him since last year (which I have been with him for 2 years) and he got us pregnant at the same time. Knowing this she said they got married in May which he left me and tried to force me to abort in April when I found I was pregnant. She also told me that she contacted the police and made a statement against me. I regret never reporting him for physical abuse of me and when I told him I was pregnant he threw me up the stairs (but we were in Mexico at the time) so he threatened me if I ever reported him he would lie and say I did it. I have no proof of his violence towards me but I did email him angry a few times. Can they really make a statement if I only contacted her once?

Report you for what? I cannot see where there is anything for the police. One call would not make harassing telephone communications. The truth as long as truth is spoken is a defense to any kind of defamation allegation which is still only a civil matter. For your peace of mind please consult criminal defense and personal injury law counsel in person. But I say have no more contact with him or her, and consult and retain family law counsel to assert your and your child's parent-child rights and if applicable to file a family violence protective order.

I concur with Mr. Baker. Not sure where you are going with this. Anybody can make a statement, even if you had never contacted them. The question would be what statement are they trying to make and how is it supposed to affect you.

A statement is just a statement. We all can make statements. So what? She probably doesn't want you to contact her again - so don't. Apply for child support services through the Texas Attorney General as soon as the child is born.
