IIf I had a ticket taken care of October of 2016 by an attorney why would they ask for money over facebook nearly a year later?

Had an attorney that my ahole dad hired to take care of a texting while driving ticket for my girlfriend (she wasn't texting either), point is ticket court date was Oct 18th 2016 and this attorney is good friends with my ahole dad who screwed me out of alot of money recently. Was told attorney was paid etc and this attorney randomly messaged my girlfriend on Facebook with a ton of spelling mistakes etc saying he got her ticket down to a non moving and will need $124 for court fees??? He sent her this B'S August 26th 2017, ticket court date was October 18th 2016 nearly a year ago. Figure it's that my dad asked his attorney friend to send me bullshit so I'd unblock and call/talk to him, or my dad's trying to screw me over even more and get back the money he already paid to the attorney... also seems fishy that it's over facebook messenger and not an actual letter that was mailed... WISH I could post a picture of it... it sends tons of red flags.

Your girlfriend needs to pick up the phone and call the attorney to find out what is going on. The last thing she needs is a warrant for failure to pay court fees/fines.

In my experience it is not customary or even appropriate for an attorney to message someone on Facebook with a professional inquiry. Why not have your girlfriend call the Traffic Court and inquire as to the status of the ticket? If there is an issue she should hire her own attorney to resolve it. Generally speaking the person who engaged the attorney is responsible for payment of his fee. If there are court costs pending she can go down to the court and pay them herself. If your girlfriend does not know this purported attorney she should block him. If he persists she should contact law enforcement.
