Will I get my charges dropped ?

Business 2 views 1 answers
So, the other day my friends and I got pulled over with weed in the car. They asked to search the car and they found my friends weed. My friend got charged with possession, and I got charged with paraphernalia, but all I had on me was a stem (something NOT smoke able). Our other two friends got off free. But, one of them admitted to being high to the police and they still let her drive home and she still wasn't charged. They also wouldn't let us call our parents until the whole routine was done, and none of us are even legal adults. What will happen? Is there a possibility of my charges getting dropped?

They do not have to let you call your parents while they are doing their investigation. What you said may or may not be admissible against you. What they found may or may not be admissible. A complete review of the reports, the audio, the video and your recollections would need to be accomplished before knowing if you have a decent chance to win a motion to suppress. A winning motion to suppress could result in dismissal. It may be possible to get you on a diversion and therefore have the charges eventually dismissed. You may have valid factual defenses. You will need to discuss all these options with your lawyer. In the meantime do not talk about what happened and stop posting details on a public forum.
