Moving out of state on probation with just an 'ok' from a probation officer

Misdemeanor probation is actually very difficult if not impossible to transfer out of state. Therefore, his agent is actually trying to be accomodating since I am sure that she knows that his probation would not be able to be transferred out of state. It sounds to me like she recognizes that he has performed well on his probation and has done everything asked of him and so she is simply trying to help him out by permitting him to leave the state and report by mail for the last three months. I would advise your son to make copies of his written reports, as well as any correspondence from him showing where he is living as well as any correspondence from her which would tend to show that she was aware of where he was living, before he sends them out just so he can document that he in fact received them from her and therefore, presumably had her permission to leave the state.
