F-1 in the US wants to add dependent spouse, also in the US. Is it possible?
F-1 is in the US already. Wants to sponsor F-2 to dependent spouse. HOWEVER, the spouse is ALSO in the US under a tourist visa. Is it possible?

The spouse ( with the B-1/B-2 status) of the F-1 status recipient can request the F-2 status. However, you and your spouse should be cognizant of the issue of pre- conceived intent.

Depending on the situation, you might be able to adjust to an F-2. However, you might have to also file to extend the B-2 in order to make sure you do not overstay. You must have a valid b visa within the permitted time frame in order to adjust status.
