Should the custodial stepfather receive more child support from the father after the mother passes away?

My wife from our second marriages just passed away. My stepchildren (16 &19) want to live with me in our house. Their father is fine with that. Should the father be expected to increase his child support now that the mother is deceased and can provide no income?

We need more than that. We need to know the year the last order of support was entered and whether it was entered on consent or after a hearing. If everything lines up, then perhaps a support magistrate will entertain a modification.
