Did you actlly reeive the package which was mailed? Who was it addressed to? What was done with it after it was received? Were you living in the residence of the ex-gf at the time of the search? Do you have a prior conviction which prohib its you from owning/possessing a firearm/ammunition? You have given little information here and have not asked any questions. My comments are not intended to establish an attorney-client relationship, are not confidential, and are not intended to constitute legal advice. Proper legal advice can only be given by an attorney who agrees to represent you, who reviews the facts of your specific case, who does not have a conflict of interest preventing the representation, and who is licensed to practice in the appropriate jurisdiction where the legal issue may be filed, and who is licensed as an attorney in the state where the law applies.

Hi, Your case sounds complicated, and you should have an attorney. If you have not yet bet arraigned and you qualify you can be appointed counsel. If you do not qualify you should hire an attorney. Drug and gun cases are complicated and often have valid motions to suppress evidence and or statements. For example, in your case, they would have to prove that you were actually living at the residence to somehow link you to the gun and ammunition. They will also need to prove that they did a valid search of the area where they found the gun and the ammunition. The same applies for the marijuana and the stopping of the car. As for your sentence - it's tough to tell from what you said, but it is possible that you will face a minimum mandatory sentence on some of the charges...depending on the amount of drugs seized.

Sounds like a good case for you. Unless the ploice have other information that they included in a search or arrest warrant that you are not aware of or have not mentioned. The biggest problem for the government is how they prove you possessed these items or intended to distribute them. Sounds to me like you were merely present when this took place and that is not enough to convict you. I may be contacted through my website at the link below if you wish to consult on this matter.
