The abbreviated version:We hired a co. to replace our furnace/AC Oct. '09. They "forgot" to feed the condensate tube into the piping that they drilled a hole in. Our kitchen sink/disposal/dishwasher also drain through the pipe. They have been draining since 10/09 onto our crawl space floor. This summer, our whole family is having horrible allergies, our 5 yr old develops eye allergies & an infection, our 13 yr. is sick on & off for months & develops asthma. Our house smells musty, & little flies are coming in the duct vents. I start finding mold on the vent covers, in the duct work & my husband crawls under the house and finds rotted waste & water on the crawl space floor. We take pics, video, call the contractor & he texts saying he'll take care of it no charge. That was 8/10. nothing.
Wow, what a horrible situation you and your family have endured. It sounds like the contractor was negligent, and that you and your family suffered more than just some water damage.
I suggest you find a local plaintiff's attorney in your area immediately, and here's why. The contractor is likely not going to be willing to pay for all the harm they caused--the health issues, going to the doctor to check about mold exposure issues and other possible consequences, replacing all the water-damaged materials, exterminating bugs, replacing vents, etc. And he's definitely not going to want to compensate you for the suffering you've endured so far. An attorney will be able to advise you as to when you'd have to file suit in order to protect your rights (the "statute of limitations" will prevent you from doing so after a certain point, and you should talk to a lawyer to get that date).

You need to find out this contractor's insurance company and file a claim against his general liability coverage. I suggest you contact an attorney to assist you.
