I would need a little more information but typically if the case is closed without getting a discharge it means, for a possible number of reasons, you are still responsible for those debts that you included in your bankruptcy petition. You may want to contact a local attorney to review the case summary to determine why the case was closed with you getting your discharge. Please click the thumbs up if this has been helpful. Jason L. A closed case is a case that is administratively inactive. If you did not receive a Discharge then you still owe the debts that were listed in the case. A common reason for a cae to close without a discharge is becaause the Financial Management Certificate was not filed in time. It is also possible that your bankruptcy was discharged. The closing of the case is, as previously noted, an administrative conclusion to your case. Normally, you would receive a written notice that the case had been discharged. If not, you are your attorney need to find out why a discharge was not granted. Without a discharge, you are still responsible for the debts. The information provided is not intended as legal advice. No Attorney/Client relationship is intended, implied or created.

Closed means that the case is over. What happened before it closed and why it closed are important. [This communication is intended as general information and not specific legal advice, and this communication does not create an attorney-client relationship.]
