B2 visa denied! I want to visit my american boyfriend!!!

I recently got my B2 visa denied when I applied at the embassy here in Stockholm. My and my boyfriend (american) are now trying to figure out a way for me to go visit him and our friends in the states. I applied for a 12 months visa, and i told the lady at the embassy that I wasnt going to the US on romantic reason (that i dont have a boyfriend living there). so, i lied..and i understand that it was stupid, but we heard that having a boyfriend would not help the visa process. So, we are now looking into other options, like getting married here in sweden, applying for a K1 visa or apply for a shorter B2 visa,so i can go and visit him. What can i do? is it possible to get a visa after I got denied? should I be honest and say that I have a boyfrind? What lenght should I apply for on the B2?

Do you have a letter from the embassy stating the exact reason for the denial? Applying for the B2 visa can be tricky, as you have seen. You want to make it clear that your ties to Sweden are strong enough that you are not likely to overstay your visa or adjust status. Showing evidence of long-term employment, ongoing education, close family relationships, and property ownership, among other things will help your case.

A good option for you might be to have your boyfriend apply for a Fiancee Visa. The process generally takes 3-6 months for approval. Once you enter the U.S., you would have to get married within 90 days, or leave the U.S. For more detailed information, you may contact an experienced immigration lawyer at Bogle & Chang law firm to confidentially discuss the case and how we can help. To help get the B-2 visa, you could supply the embassy with affidavits from friends and family attesting to the low possibility of you staying in the United States once you get there. It would also help to already purchase airfare showing a return date within 90 days. I am wondering why you didn't attempt to come to the US under the Visa Waiver Program of which Sweden is a part? It may be too late to attempt because you have already been denied the B-2 visa once. If your intention is to get married to your boyfriend, you may be better off having him apply for a fiance visa for you, as the other attorney answering your question suggested. It generally takes longer than a B-2 visa, and you would have to get married soon after your entry into the US, but if that is your intention anyway, that may be easier to get than the B-2 visa in your specific case. 614.370.2265 Jason Darfus, Esq.
