I have got an interview coming up and I would like to know what to do and how to prepare. All original documents requested have been submitted, what other document do I need to take along to back my interview. Thank you

You need to take the originals of all the documents you already submitted the copies of. You need to take updated supporting documents for Affidavit of Support. You also need to take proof of valid marriage by taking as many joint documents as possible. I would recommend consulting an immigration attorney because lack of proper preparation for the Adjustment interview can make or break your entire case. Depending on how long you courted your wife or how long you've been married, you will have generated different documents. The law requires that you bear the burden of proving that you entered in a good faith marriage and that you actually share a home with your spouse. So, if you have documents to prove you dated for a while, and are now living together and if people in your community know that you are married and living together, you should also get affidavits from them. Interviews at the immigration office can be tricky and bad things happen to good people. Only you know if you can go to the interview without an attorney. You may call my office at (410) 992-6602 for a free consultation.
