Mr. Weiland's answer is excellent, particularly his statement of the applicable law. I just want to underscore the importance of hiring a criminal lawyer to defend you in this matter. Being convicted of a crime can negatively affect your ability to obtain future employment, among other things. is a great resource for finding lawyers. If you cannot afford a lawyer, you should contact the Wisconsin Bar Accociation:

Wisconsin statute 943.39 Fraudulent writings provides that whoever, with intent to injure
or defraud, does any of the following is guilty of a Class H felony:
(1) Being a director, officer, manager, agent or employee of
any corporation or limited liability company falsifies any record,
account or other document belonging to that corporation or limited
liability company by alteration, false entry or omission, or

If the matter has been investigated by law enforcement and you know that it has been referred to District Attorneys Office for issuing charges, then an attorney may be able to meet with the DA for a pre-charging conference in an attempt to soften the charge. It will depend upon the policy of the DA's office. Some DAs do not grant pre-charging conferences. You will need to meet with a a criminal lawyer in your area to strategize. It is not likely that DA will refrain from issuing charges just because you are offering to pay money back, however, being able to repay will go a long ways toward having matter reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor.
