How long is a no trespass order good for

1 views 1 answers
I got caught shoplifting, was charged and had a trespassing order for the store. It has been almost a year and I forgot about the no trespass, went into the store and was charged with criminal trespassing. How long do I have to wait before the no trespassing is over?

Unless specified otherwise, private no trespass notices are forever. If the original notice contained no date of termination, then there is no date of termination. Have your lawyer in the trespass case look at it to determine if it is valid (enough information to put you on notice) under the law of the state in which you are charged.
