You can use the “Find a lawyer” service here on . Just make sure you retain an experienced attorney who specializes in Social Security disability law.

You can use the find a lawyer tab on for an attorney in your area that practices Social Security disability law. You want an attorney that you can meet with face to face, not a national firm that you call an 800 # or a hearing rep. You can also go to www.NOSSCR.org (National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives) to find experienced local counsel. You can start the application process and find out general information at www.ssa.gov.

I agree with the prior two answers. Both and Nosscr offer excellent ways to find a good attorney in your area. Just make certain you deal with a lawyer and not someone who is just an "advocate."
