Hi, I am an international student on F1 visa and I just got an intern offer for a start up company located in US. It is a remote job, meaning I dont have to be in US to do the work. I found out that I was not qualified to apply for CPT at the moment. My question is that will I violate my F1 visa, if chose to do this job back in my country instead?

It's not clear how being on F-1 visa you are planning to work remotely in your home country. However, if you are going home for a vacation and some US startup is outsourcing their work to overseas employees, doing that work and getting paid in your country should not jeopardize your status. But if you work in the US, without a work authorization, it will.

If you are leaving the U.S. to do this work then you would not be maintaining your F-1 status in the U.S. If you are prepared to stay overseas this is fin e-- otherwise if you are trying to do this in the U.s. it is unauthorized employment.
