I would be happy to discuss this with you and go over the different options that we can offer from wills, power of attorneys, and living wills. I can be reached at 770-420-8448.
Prices are going to vary between attorneys. Some attorneys will bill at an hourly rate, some will bill as a flat fee. Most should include at least a copy of the advance health care directive form (the Georgia equivalent of a living will). Many will include a
power of attorney
document.
Generally speaking, there is no "this is the price, period" quote. Some wills can be quite complex with business interests and real property being split between family members, etc. Some people want to set particular guidelines that must be met before any distribution (for example, my children must reach 25 years of age and graduate with a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited four year institution).
"Simple" wills are usually along the lines of "husband leaves everything to wife, if she predeceases him it gets divided equally among the children". A simple will may include provisions for appointing guardians of minor children or trustees to hold the assets until the kids reach a certain age.
We do simple wills on a flat fee basis (not hourly). We always include a power of attorney and advanced health care directive . Flat fee for a single simple will is $275. Flat fee for a husband-wife pair of simple wills is $395.
Please feel free to contact me if you have more questions or need a more complete answer on a particular point.
Fees will vary from lawyer to lawyer.
My fees for a will start at $200 ($350 for husband and wife together). If we do a will, we prepare a living will on request for no additional fee. (If you like my website on Facebook, we discount this fee by $50). A
power of attorney
will add about $100 to $150 to the total. You'll find details on my website, www.glenashman.com and can also call me at 404-768-3509 to discuss this.
I'd be glad to assist you.
