Limebike with broken brakes am I covered?

3 views 4 answers
Hopped on a Limebike on the way to work this morning and found out that the brakes were out the hard way. Now I have a broken bone in my hand and a few stitches to show for it. Do I have any legal rights that could hold Limebike responsible for allowing me to rent damaged equipment?

The "terms of use" (if any) related to your use of a Lime Bike may include a release of liability and/or limitation of remedies that could limit or preclude your claim. However, even if there are such terms, they may or may not be enforceable. A consultation with a personal injury attorney would be a good idea. I'm sorry that you are that person. Lime Bike may have responsibility, particularly if someone reported the bike damaged before you used it. Lime Bike also likely has some no-fault insurance coverage that may assist with your medical bills. You should probably discuss this situation further with a bike lawyer. Most lawyers provide free consultations. More 0 found this answer helpful found this helpful | 0 lawyers agree Undo Vote Helpful Undo Unhelpful Undo 0 comments

Brian Malcom Keith 5 stars 1 reviews Rating: 1.0 Personal Injury Lawyer Profile Posted on Oct 2, 2018 Search and consult with an experienced and seasoned Washington Personal Injury attorney. Washington residents (and those injured in Washington) have the benefit of excellent Plaintiff’s Attorneys located there. Hire one. Personal Injury cases are difficult and expensive cases to pursue. It requires an attorney who is well versed in this area of law and has the money to fund the litigation. The cases are usually prosecuted on a contingency basis (the attorney receives a percentage of any settlement). The attorney also advances litigation costs, which may be significant, and sometimes deducted from settlement proceeds. A Plaintiff’s Personal Injury attorney may be required to invest thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money to get your case to a jury trial, with no guaranteed outcome. Given the financial risk involved, Personal Injury attorneys need to be selective in the cases they take on. Be prepared to share freely with your proposed attorney any documentation, medical records or information you may have regarding your case. They should be able to advise you early on as to the challenges and potential barriers you can anticipate as your case proceeds. In a personal injury case, many of the witnesses needed to testify at trial are doctors, healthcare providers or expert witnesses. By the nature of their jobs, their time and opinions are expensive to obtain. A doctor testifying at deposition may charge the party taking the deposition up to $1,000 per hour, often more for trial testimony. More information is needed and you should search and immediately consult with an experienced Washington Personal Injury attorney in your area. There is no substitute for an in person consultation with an experienced Washington attorney. They will know the lay of the land for this type of case. If possible you should consult in person with a qualified Personal Injury attorney, or your local Legal Aid office. This is not legal advice. You need to speak to an attorney who is licensed in your state for legal advice. This is merely suggestions for you to think about in discussing your situation with the local attorney.
