done our part in respect to make the house showable condition and available. Now were told she wants to have open houses twice a week. Is tIn my lease it states landlord may show property with reasonable notice. I realize thats the contract. Verbally we agreed twice a week for 2 hrs the house would be available with me present. Wed and Sat 5-7pm with a 24 hr notice. There has been no shows and cancelations and a couple showings at wrong times. Couple times just came to door. We have hat the same as showings listed in our contract? We are not happy. The inconvience because of jobs andscheduals and pets is to much. we cant be present for that amount of time. We have been not offered any kind of compensation for this. The hrs cleaning and shifting our sched to much can we restrict legally?

Open houses twice per week are not reasonable, and you should not have to be subject to such harassment from your landlord. First, any realtor who is having an open house even once per week is not doing their client a service, as there is no way that the agent would have the ability to sufficiently promote the open houses and generate interest to attend. You should advise the Landlord that you do not agree to more than 1 open house per month and also designate specific days and times that the house will be available to show,. That way you do not have to bend over backwards to accommodate your landlord every time they call you with a person interested in seeing the property. If the landlord is not agreeable to this arrangement, contact an attorney with landlord/tenant experience who can write a letter to the landlord on your behalf setting forth your rights and you available remedies (i.e. terminating the lease) in the event the landlord fails to agree to show the property according to your schedule. Best of luck. The foregoing is offered for informational purposes only and is not legal advice nor does it create an attorney-client relationship.
