Gaining custody rights after release from prison?
My child’s “alleged” father is a habitual criminal, due to get out of prison as early as July. He has only seen her less than a handful of times, but not in the last 3 years! He has never spared a penny for support. He suffers from drug abuse and addiction. He called the other day stating upon his release he plans on establishing paternity and exercising his parental rights. At this point does he have any rights? Should I wait til he brings this to court or should I take action first? He is a resident of Nevada and currently imprisoned there as well, he would either parole to Nevada or Arizona.
