Arrested for alleged grand theft of a dwelling? Allegedly took $120 in cash and allegedly has my friend on camera?

Trying to find out the following: Time he might be looking at? Previous convictions sales, paraphernalia, possession completed 36 month drug offender probation early term in 18 months without any technicals or anything in 2014. 2017 DUI, possession and paraphanelia 8 months county. How can this be beat? I realize it might not be possible but what kind of loop hole needs to exist to beat it? Isn't cash hard to prove? If this person comes back and says total amount allegedly taken is $XYZ.. Can he be rearrested on his word? Is that another charge or added to the original charge for restitution purposes if convicted? I realize he needs a good criminal defense attorney. Which leads me to my next question. When consulting with attorneys besides what you can afford, how do you determine which is the right one because they all have the gift of gab? Any other pertinent information, advice you can offer or anything you are able to address that I might not have mentioned, PLEASE advise.

I am sorry but I do not have an hour to answer all of your questions. Your friend is in a boatload of trouble and is likely facing mandatory prison time. You decide on an attorney the same way that you decide on a boyfriend / girlfriend, i.e. you meet, talk, explore and go with your gut. Interview a few local lawyers and then you will have a better feel for things. Wishing your friend luck and hoping that I have been helpful in answering your question.
