If it is two separate injuries to two separate body parts, then it will be treated as two injuries. Both of those injuries themselves go to the body as a whole. I think you are thinking about the situation where you had a back injury then had a worsening, anatomical change or progression of the condition. Still, it would be considered a new injury. If you treat them as separate injuries, as you will have to, then they are treated separately, and you should have two different physician panels and two settlements with the option to keep your medical care open on each or to be paid to close it. I would hire a workers' compensation attorney if you don't have one. They are entitled to 20% of the settlement, but usually they can get you a better deal.
