I was arrested four months ago for shoplifting.I have not been convicted or had any court date set. Will my arrest appear on a background check for another retail job with no convictions?Only answer if you are at least 99.9% sure. Keep in mind the same month I was arrested I got hired a temporary postion with a another retail store. Is my arrest truly visible as of right now?

If you are arrested and fingerprinted, you have an arrest record and it will show up on GCIC. You can check for yourself, by going to any law enforcement office and pay to have your criminal history ran.

Mr. Blevins is correct- when in doubt, go have your record pulled. Any local law enforcement agency will run it for a nominal charge (usually around $20.00). Well worth it for the piece of mind of knowing. In general, your GCIC (criminal record) will show state charges if you were fingerprinted and 'booked in', or processed at the jail. It does not matter that the case is open. Agencies update your record when it is closed to reflect what exactly happened in your case. In Georgia, often times arrests, like diamonds, are forever.
