Can I be reimbursed for impounding car

2 views 2 answers
Son was stuck in snow in middle of subdivision - officer came out, said he was going to impound car, son showed proof of insurance and said his dad was on the way (less than 30 minutes) and would either call tow truck or pull him out. Cop impounded car anyways. No complaints from home owner - can I get reimbursed for impounding car. I have pictures showing it was not impeding traffic.

I would call police department and file an internal complaint. I expect it to be a lot more trouble than it is worth to you. I am unsure why officer came out to private drive. Was the car on homeowners land or in a public road? The officer can do it if on road. Some officers are incompetent.

I agree with the distinguished lawyer to file a complaint with the police department.
