I have gone for my arraignment of a felony charge 3 seperate time and each time have been sent home with a new court date. I have not been able to get a hold of my public defender to ask any questions.

It means the state has not yet decided either to file the charge(s) they already believe they have or cannot decide what charge(s) to bring. Without more facts it is difficult to give a more detailed answer, and you really shouldn't post too many facts online. Sit tight and do not discuss the case with anyone and do not speak to police without a lawyer. Good luck.

It would appear that they are still reviewing your case to make a filing decision. At this point the state has not decided to go forward with your case. They have 175 days to file a charge against you after arrest based on speedy trial. If they file a charge against you within 175 days they have to bring you to trial within 175 days. If the information is filed within 175 days you have to file a notice of expiration and the state has a recapture period. This could mean many things. They could have a hole that they are trying to patch, they might want to get rid of it but want to check with a victim or they could have just misplaced the file. If its a complicated case they might need additional time to research the case to make a filing decision. Try to get in touch with your public defender because they will be in the best position to explain what is going on at this point. Make sure to keep an eye on the calendar for 175 days for a felony and 90 days if it is reduced to a misdemeanor. Remember if you fail to appear or ask for a continuance speedy trial is waived.
