If you are in violation of F-1 status, your SEVIS record has likely been terminated by your school, and you could be subject to arrest and deportation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. You either should seek to reinstate your status or depart the U.S. as soon as possible. Your status violation could create a problem for you to return to the U.S. in the future. A reinstatement could clear up the violation, but more details about your situation are needed. I recommend that you consult with an experienced and knowledgeable immigration attorney. Scott D. If you are still within the time-frame of applying to reinstate your status or if you are still enrolled in school. You can file an application to reinstate F- status.
