can police show up at my house from being on a record in riteaids database if caught twice but police was never involved in both incidents? first time was from a year ago and was never reported.
This is doubtful. If anything happens you will probably receive a letter from the City Attorney. You should not do anything without the assistance of counsel.
If the police are able to determine that it may be you on the video tape allegedly committing the theft AND they know who you are and where you live AND they have probable cause to believe that a crime has been committed, then they can come and knock on your door. If they are able to locate you, it may be in your best interest not to speak with them until you consult with an attorney.
Yes, the Police can show up at your house, although I don't know if they will. It is possible although not likely given the facts you stated. If they do, the important thing to remember is that you don't have to speak to the police whether you are under arrest or not. If you are being questioned by the police you can tell them you don't want to answer any questions without a lawyer present and you can refuse to answer questions. It is almost never a good idea to speak to the police about a case without a lawyer present if you are potentially a suspect. If you are concerned I highly recommend that you speak with a criminal defense attorney in more detail specifically about what happened.
If the report was forwarded to the police they may come and talk to you. Or if the report was forwarded to the DA they may decide to charge you. If they try to speak with you at all you need to ask for your attorney. They will be using the interview to build a case against you so do not say anything.
