My first court date is april sixth 2011. I just received a job offer down in Ohio 20hr with room and board included. The bad part is i just got a Class A misdemeanor put against me. How do i go about getting permission to accept this job offer? ps. i can and am fully willing to drive back for court dates. there's just no work here and i need a job to pay my pre existing fines...
It may not be a problem but it depends on whether you are released to probation supervision or on your own recognizance. If you have been released to probation you can not leave without the permission of both probation and the court. If you are released on your own recognizance then you should be able to go without an issue provided you are not on probation for anything else and the judge didn't put any restrictions on your ability to travel while the matter is pending. Best thing is to take it up with your attorney...which you really should have facing a misdemeanor which exposes you to fines, surcharges, and a potential one year term in the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility...and let s/he deal with the court on your behalf.

Frequently people with pending court cases are required to leave the State or jurisdiction for a multitude of reasons. Unless you were released with a specific condition that you not travel outside the court's jurisdiction, you should be okay to relocate. You must appear at all of your future scheduled court dates. Failure to do so, could result in a warrant for your arrest. It would be advisable to consult with the lawyer who is representing you on the current charges.
