Do I need to disclose?

I am renting a property for 2 weekends for me and my film crew. She sent us over a contract with all the appropriate information. However, since we have talked and disclosed a number of occupants (5-6) the number had multiplied and now the crew is around 15-16. The issue is do we have to call her and tell her the inflated number or can we sign the contract without disclosing the information. No where on the contract does it say the max number of occupants or any information of that nature. I am just wondering is telling less more beneficial.

If your goal is "do the right thing" then you'll disclose, because obviously the rate which was quoted was for 5-6 people and for all you know the owners of the house won't even rent it to 15 people. If your goal is to simply rent the house, then they may or may not be able to kick you out, depending on the contract details. You also may have other liability issues if things don't go well.

As was already said, morally you most certainly must disclose. Legally? We haven't seen the lease so we couldn't say. You'll almost certainly face a hostile landlord if you don't disclose, though.

IF the contract does not specify the number of inhabitants, then you are under no legal obligation to disclose. However, you may want to disclose to avoid further complications with the landlord down the road.
