How to find DUI records

4 views 4 answers
My 6 year old son lives mostly with my ex-wife. She has been on several evening dates recently, and I have heard through the grapevine that she is driving under the influence. Obviously, I fear for my son. How can I find out if she has any DUI's?

Criminal History Records information is only available from the Illinois State Police. Information is located at their web page: http://www.isp.state.il.us/crimhistory/crimhistoryhome.cfm. You also may obtain a Uniform Conviction Information Act Information (UCIA) Sheet by ordering the UCIA request forms via the internet at http://www.isp.state.il.us/services/uciaformreq.cfm. To order UCIA request forms by mail write: Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, 260 North Chicago Street Joliet, Illinois 60431-1060 Or phone (815) 740-5160. Electronic Conviction Inquiries - The Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification has developed a program that will allow individuals and/or agencies to process name-based Uniform Conviction Information Act (UCIA) background checks electronically via email and receive a response within approximately 24 hours. This program is referred to as FEESUB. Enrollment Instructions are available for download at http://www.isp.state.il.us/services/enrollmentinstructions.pdf

The circuit court files are public records. If the information is not available online, you can visit the circuit clerk of the county and check whether there are any pending tickets or DUI cases. You will also be able to review the files and have copies made, if you so choose.
