Is there a way for a minor to get a copy of a will of an estranged grandparent that recently passed away?

Minor has not had contact with that parent or estranged grandparent in many years. Minor did have contact with parent and grandparent when will was written. Grandparent developed Alzheimer's Disease soon after will was written.

The executor (also called personal representative) of the estate should have filed the will with the probate court. Check with the probate court where the grandparent resided at the time of her death.

If the grandparent lived in California and indeed had a will (and not a living trust), the Will is supposed to be "lodged" in the probate court of the county in which the grandparent lived. Most counties have at least limited online access - enough that you can tell whether a will was lodged or a probate begun or not. If the county does not have online access, send a letter and a self-addressed stamped envelope to the probate court along with a blank check made payable to the "Clerk of the Superior Court of XYZ County". Just above your signature write "Not to Exceed $30". Enclose a letter to the Clerk requesting a copy of the Will and also a copy of any Petition to probate the will. Good luck.
