How do I hide my DUI from my mom? I'm under her insurance.

I haven't had my DMV hearing yet, but I hear that winning one is very rare. In the event that I would have to get a sr22, would I be able to get a new policy w/another insurance company? Would this create noticeable changes in my insurance with my mother?

You'd better tell mom before her insurance company comes up for renewal. Insurance companies have access to your driving record. Since you're on your mother's policy, they will check your driving record at renewal time. When the bill shows up, she's going to want to kill you. Insurance rates skyrocket when one of the drivers on the policy gets a DUI. If your DUI isn't disclosed, the insurance company might even cancel your mother's insurance altogether.

You never want to hide such things from MOM. She is the one that brought you into this world...so, you will want to share the information with her and be ready to offer alternative in both how you will not be driving while intoxicated and how you will be either paying her the difference in the insurance premiums and/or obtaining your own seperate insurance...to show mom that you are taking responsibility for your actions... You cannot hide this from your mother as your insurance rate will noticeably increase when time for renewal. I assume that you have not had your court hearing yet. You need an attorney. There are ways to possibly to possibly keep your insurance rates. This must be done prior to any DMV hearing and court proceeding. Andrew Roberts
