Does one parent have to ask the other parent to leave state with the child during 50/50 custody?

My daughter's mother and I share 50/50 custody of our daughter. She wants to take her out of state for vacation. Does she need my permission to leave the state?
She would only need permission if she is going into your placement period, or if she wants to move out of state beyond a certain number of miles. For a vacation, she does not need to seek permission unless your custody order states that she does.
No, neither of you need 'permission' to travel with your child during your own placement time. However, it would be a nice courtesy to notify the other parent about the whereabouts of your minor child during travel for emergency purposes.

No. While there are restrictions for moving out of state, there are not restrictions for traveling out of state, unless your court papers impose such restrictions. They should however provide you with all appropriate travel information so you have complete details involving the trip.
