I receive a fix it ticket for tint and head light being out

I am not the registered owner nor the dirver and the ticket was given to me in my maiden name after I showed the police officer my current ID with my current name on it, can I fight that ticket? And if I do will the registered owner be ticketed?

If you were not the driver, it is very odd that the police issued you a citation. Why did they say that they were citing you and not the driver? The name thing doesn't matter, but the fact that you were not driving should get the ticket thrown out if you contest it and they will not be able to ticket the registered owner. If you were driving, you are responsible for the infractions, but if you can get the owner to do the repairs, the ticket will be fixed.

I handle many tickets in the Ventura courts. Only the registered owner or driver can be issued fix-it tickets. Call me if you have any questions. Andrew Roberts (805) 496-7777
