Passport validity for US consular appointment?

My passport expiry date is 8th october 2020,I am planning to get a visa appointment in Canada (vancouver) in February or March 2020. Do i have to get the passport renewed before going for the consular appointment . The website read - passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the period of stay in the united states"so i am totally sure of what that meant? Thanks for your help SG

As long as your current passport meets the six month validity requirement, then there is no concern. But, don’t delay or else you will be denied.
