I processed a transaction with a local (FL) Harley Davidson dealership involving my deceased brother's (WA) Harley. We gave them the reqrd ppwk, (notarized Release Ltr fr Heirs & Affidavit of Successor to process harley to harley transfer according to WA small estate law. Dlrshp screwed up ppwk, gave me registration that has not been valid these past 8 mos, even though I paid over $2k in fees, it still is not valid with DMV, 8 mos later. In addition,I was told I had no choice but to take their $3500 service contract, but didn't tell me the full cost. By the time they were done the bike went from $5100 to $11k. I was out of state when F Officer said he messed up the contract & had signed my esignature to it; in addition there were other documents that were forged. Isn't forgery illegal?

This is a second version of the same question. You wont get far seeking legal advice asking "questions" that "beg the answer." Thats simply seeking affirmation not information. If you can prove the documents were forged and falsified - of course its illegal - but you already knew that. The issue is proving the dealership messed up or that they should have some how been responsible for dealing with a probate based titling issue, in a another state. As its a fair bet they are going to claim they did what they could at your insistence to "help you out" so you didn't have to hire a WA state lawyer or fly out there to address it. This is going to be a complicated issue that you may now need to retain a WA lawyer to properly address or to fly out to WA state as should have happened in the first instance to address it with thier DMV and then have the title/registration transferred to Florida when its in your name. Other than suing in a vacuum "because your angry" its critical to actually think that process through to figure what end you are trying to achieve BEFORE you spend oodles of money in litigation.
