on 12/18 slipped under my door was a 10day eviction notice. On 12/20 I found a certified letter in my mail box.. according to the tracking # it was left on 12/18 It was the same 10 day notice. The landlord has received a portion of what is due. I am able to pay the outstanding portion by 12/27. What can I do? I reside in NYCHA. I have 3 children and no other adults in home.

I do not practice this type of law. However, all days, including weekends and holidays count towards the 10 days.

All days count unless the very last day of the period is a legal holiday (like Xmas) or a Sunday. In the latter case, the deadline would be moved to the first day thereafter that isn't a holiday or a Sunday.

Dear NYCHA Tenant Explain the 10 day notice. There is no way to know what you meant. A rent demand is 14 days notice. Before a rent demand is a certified mail letter informing the tenant the rent is late. All days count, unless the last day is Sunday or a Holiday.
