What can my husband do if he was slapped in the back of the head at work offshore in LA?

My husband works offshore/ outside of LA as a cook. He was slapped in the back of the head by an interim supervisor. What are his options? He has spoken with the owner of the company who said he was going to speak with the interim supervisor to address the matter.

He may be able to make a claim under the Longshore Act if suffered injuries. However, he should report this behavior to his superior. Good luck.
